My work schedule was a little wonky last week and I was under the weather, but was still able to get most of my workouts in. The good news is that I broke the 26.5 MPH avg rate for a 30 minute ride last week – covering 13.9 miles (27.8 MPH). However, last night took a bit of a dip only going 13.2 miles in 30 minutes (26.4 MPH). Both of these times were after weightlifting – upper body/core and no lower body, as I tried to save the legs for the bike.
We’re just about two weeks away from the Lifetime Indoor Tri. This will be another checkpoint as I get ready for Buffalo. I’ve cut back on the swimming and running, so those will need to start to increase. Just about 11 weeks until Buffalo, which means about nine weeks to get to my peak week.

26.3
26.3 MPH, is my new (frustrating) speed threshold on the stationary bikes. On Saturday and Monday I had a 45 minute and 30 minute rides respectively. Both rides were plagued with 26.3 speeds. The first ride was after 25 minutes of weights, including squats, the other was after 17 minutes of swimming. I'm working on getting past 26.5 as the next barrier. We'll see how this shakes out. I have the Lifetime Indoor tri at the end of the month and about 2.5 months before I need to "peak" getting ready for Buffalo.
